This is the once mighty River Jordan, which is now just a creek. Jesus was said to have been baptised by John at this very spot and pilgrims come from around the world to follow in his footsteps. The first wastewater processing facility was built only very recently. Until then, pilgrims were submerging themselves in poo water.
